Sean’s early training as an artist came by way of the woods, creek and while vacationing by the seaside. His formal education in clay earned him a B.F.A. from Ohio University and an M.F.A. from the University of Nebraska. He now lives in rural west-central Minnesota with his wife Kate, also a clay artist, and their son Isaac. When he’s not in the studio Sean enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time exploring the nearby woods, swamps and lakes. “I see my work as a catalyst for creating a meaningful experience, for myself and others”.
