Poster Printing

The NRM Spatial Technologies Lab (located at RAS 126) has a large-format color ink-jet printer that can print posters on 24 or 36 inch white paper.

Use Policy:

Poster printing is available to SRSU students, staff, and faculty for research and academic purposes only. This is not a media center resource and is only available to use for purposes such as printing a poster to present at a conference, etc. There is no technician available to help with the design or formatting of the poster. A graduate assistant will only be able to help you load and print your poster.

Price:

$5 per square foot

Printing charges are used to offset costs of paper, ink, and maintenance for the printer. Charges must be paid via IT from an SRSU account into the SRSU-NRMLAB account. When considering costs, please keep in mind that posters are often printed twice due to formatting errors by the author and you will be charged for each printing.

Posters should be prepared in PowerPoint using the following page setting:

Poster Printing Resources:

Below are links to other websites with suggestions on how to format your poster. The most common mistakes are text that is too small to read and poor contrast between the background and text. Visit some of these websites for tips on text size, font type, photo preparation, and colors that are best for posters. Plus, search the web for poster tips to find more suggestions and examples.

Below are a few examples of posters that have been printed in this lab. They are Adobe Acrobat PDF files of the posters and only meant to give you some ideas on how to incorporate images, layout, and colors. Some are good, some could be better, use your own judgment and design yours accordingly.
