Blackboard is a web-based learning environment that enables instructors to enhance on-campus learning and/or deliver distance learning by bringing their course materials, class discussions, assignments and assessments (tests/quizzes) to the web. Your instructor will let you know if your class uses Blackboard or not.

IMPORTANT: We continue to experience problems with students using the Internet Explorer v7 browser with Blackboard, **especially with any online testing**. This seems to not just be a local problem, but one that many other schools running Blackboard are experiencing as well.

The new Mozilla Firefox v3 has developed some Blackboard issues as well, mainly involving uploading documents into the assignment function. A patch is in development by Blackboard to solve this issue, but we still don't know when they'll issue this. 

In the meantime, until we get a patch for Mozilla Firefox v3, if you are running both Internet Explorer v7 and Mozilla Firefox v3 on your computer, a multi-browser approach seems to be working (use Firefox for taking online tests and use Internet Explorer for submitting assignments). You may also still download and install Mozilla Firefox v2 which is currently the most compatable browser with Blackboard from here (you'll need to uninstall Firefox v3 and it's version of java if you already have it on yoru computer): http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
