Spatial Technologies Lab
The NRM Spatial Technologies Lab was made possible from an educational grant from USDA-CSREES. The Spatial Technologies Lab serves as a teaching lab for various classes and it’s primarily functions as a research lab for the Borderlands Research Institute. Institute researchers have 24-7 swipe-card access to the Spatial Technologies Lab.

Lab Equipment:
The Spatial Technologies Lab is ~500 sqft and contains the following research equipment:
- 17 Workstation (80 GB, 800 MHz with Microsoft Windows XP Professional, 17 Flat panel monitors, and battery back-ups)
- 2 Workstation (100 GB, 800 MHz with Microsoft Windows XP Professional, 17 Flat panel monitors, and battery back-ups
- Dell Power Edge Server (1.5 tetra-byte) and back-up system
- HP Designjet 1055cm Plus Plotter (E-size)
- HP Color Laserjet 4650n Printer
- HP Monochrome Laserjet 4100 Printer
- 2 flatbed scanners
- 1 high-resolution slide scanner
- 2 Trimble Geo-explorer III GPS
- 6 Garmin eTrex handheld GPS
- 2 6-mega-pixel digital cameras
- 1 ceiling mounted LCD projector and accompanying retractable screen
- The following software is also available on multiple or all workstations:
- ESRI (ARCMAP and various extensions)
- ERDAS Imagine 9 and accompanying photogrammetry suites
