Center for Big Bend Studies
Gifts to the CBBS endowment fund make a lasting contribution to the projects of the center. The principal of the gift is never spent, and 10 percent of the interest earned each month is returned to the principal.
The remainder of the interest income is used to help with projects and operations of the center. The endowment is managed by Sul Ross State University in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Board of Regents, Texas State University System, and applicable state laws.
The degree to which the activities of the center will progress and fulfill its mission is directly commensurate to the resources that are available, and income from the endowment is essential. Gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated.

Mrs. Erma Nelson has established an endowment for the Center for Big Bend Studies in the memory of her late husband, Clyde Nelson. Mr. Nelson had a keen interest in the archeology and history of the Big Bend area. Contributions to the Clyde Nelson Memorial Endowment can be sent to the Office of the President at Sul Ross State University, Box C-114, Alpine, TX 79832 or to the Center for Big Bend Studies, Box C-71, Alpine, TX 79832.
