Publications

The Center for Big Bend Studies produces two annual publications: Journal of Big Bend Studies and the newsletter, La Vista de Frontera. In addition to these, the center publishes occasional papers, reports in contract archeology and other publications. Many of these are available for purchase.

La Vista de la Frontera is the Center for Big Bend Studies newsletter, summarizing our work in an easy-to-read format.

Journal of Big Bend Studies

The Journal of Big Bend Studies publishes articles that reach across many disciplines to enhance our understanding of the historical and cultural development of the southwestern United States and Northern Mexico, with emphasis on the Big Bend region of Texas, Chihuahua, and Coahuila.

The Journal of Big Bend Studies is published annually by the Center for Big Bend Studies at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas.

The Journal of Big Bend Studies accepts submissions from the public, due this year May 15, 2009 and selected for publication by the CBBS Editorial Board. Please refer to our Submission Guidelines (PDF) when writing a paper.
