DR. ROGER GRANT Serves as Professor, Chair and Graduate Advisor for the Physical Education Department. Teaches undergraduate and graduate classes physical education classes. Primary interest in wellness and exercise. Hobbies include golf and working on classic mustangs. Graduated from high school in Plainview, Texas and then attended Wayland Baptist University and graduated with a BS Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Health and Physical Education. Taught in public school for eight years and during those years completed a MS Degree with a major in Physical Education and minor in Business at North Texas State University. Taught two years at East Texas State University as an adjunct instructor and earned a doctorate in Health and Physical Education. Moved to Portales, New Mexico to become an Assistant Professor at Eastern New Mexico University. While teaching there for seven years was promoted to Associate Professor and served as Director of the School of Health and Physical Education. Dr. Grant came to Sul Ross in the Fall of 1987, to serve as Assistant Professor and coach men’s basketball. In 1996, he was promoted to Professor and became the Chair of the Physical Education Department, the position he currently holds.
