Kay Whitley has been a faculty member in the Department of Physical Education since 1979.  She not only has taught a variety of classes in Physical Education but has served the University as its current director of athletics and as a past volleyball coach, past basketball coach, and continues as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach.   Besides teaching some of the lecture classes for Physical Education, she teaches several activity classes which include swimming and water exercise (a class that she developed).   She has held several national committee positions with the NCAA Division III and has served various roles with the American Southwest Conference.  She also is certified as a Life Guard Instructor. AED Instructor, and First Aid Instructor with the American Red Cross and teaches annual Life Guard Training for the Big Bend Area.
