Sul Ross State University
vs. Louisiana College
November 1, 2008

Welcome to the official web site for one of the greatest celebrations of the year at Sul Ross State University!  I'm Saul Garza, Class of '99, '01, also Director of Alumni Affairs, and I am excited to serve as the Chairperson for Sul Ross State University Homecoming 2008.  I look forward to continuing the successes and accomplishments that the 2007 Overall Committee brought to this year's festivities.

Our homecoming committee is excited to announce the Homecoming 2008 theme "Lobos... throughout the Decades!".  Our committee of 10 dedicated steering leaders has been hard at work planning, coordinating, and executing the many events and activities that comprise Sul Ross State University's annual Homecoming celebration. We invite you to take part in all that this great tradition has to offer - whether you are a current Sul Ross student or faculty member, a proud Sul Ross alumnus or family member, or simply a fan who has pride in wearing Red and Grey, Homecoming has something to offer everyone!

Homecoming registration will be available closer to event. Additional information to attend the Distinguished Alumni/Hall of Honor/Outstanding Service Awards Banquet will also be available.

Our Homecoming steering committee have issued a challenge. We urge former Sul Ross Kings & Queens to participate in the 2008 "Lobos throughtout the Decades" Homecoming with a float in the Saturday morning parade down the Holland Avenue.

The HC Committee seeks out past “Sul Ross Kings and Queens” to dust off their crowns and tiaras and make it back for this event. Whether you were Branding, Homecoming, Fiesta, or Rodeo King or Queen, we think it is time to bring on your past decade memoirs. Whether you are deprived from all Sul Ross memories and traditions, we are excited to bring back all of you king and queens back for another hurrah.

In any case, even if you didn't graduate and stepped off campus before graduation, we’d love to have you back on campus for Homecoming 2008, November 1-2.

For those who were courtiers and not kings or queens, we can use your help too (remind us who the kings and queens were) and of course we want to see you back on campus this Fall just as much!

Please contact your friends and plan to come to Alpine for the weekend to renew friendships and reminisce about your time at Sul Ross. I am looking forward to an exciting homecoming and sincerely hope you will be able to attend.

Stay tuned to this web site for updates, news, and ways to get involved with Sul Ross Homecoming 2008.  If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please contact me at sgarza@sulross.edu. or (432) 837-8697.

More information will be available as the homecoming committee progresses in planning for our event.
