This brief guide illustrates common types of citations using MLA format. Many kinds of sources are not covered in this guide so it is strongly advised that you consult the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (MLA Handbook) for complete information. Chapter 5, "Documentation: Preparing the List of Works Cited," is particularly helpful as it contains examples for citing a variety of sources.
The MLA Handbook is available in the reference collection and at the circulation desk on the first floor of the library. (R 808 G437 MH 2008)
