Please note that reference books, Archives materials, and magazines/journals/newspapers do not circulate. Due dates for charged items can be confirmed online by utilizing the library's online account services.
Library items may be renewed if no fines are outstanding or another person has not requested the item. Items may be renewed online using your Library PIN or may be brought to the Circulation Desk. Read our renewal tips for information on renewal limits.
Please note that any items overdue for a year or more are considered lost and will be charged to your account as we run our end-of-semester reports. The full replacement price plus a $10 processing fee per item will be applied to your account if the items have not been returned to the library by that time. Once billed, your borrowing privileges may be suspended until payment is received.
The library does not accept replacement titles in lieu of payment for lost materials. To maintain the integrity of the library's collections, we reserve the right to conduct searches for replacement materials and choose titles which meet approved selection policies and procedures.
Students: Unpaid fines of $3.00 or more halt borrowing privileges until the fine is paid below $3.00. Before a library user's record is cleared, full payment must be made at the Circulation Desk (keep your receipt as proof of payment). Three or more overdue books will also halt borrowing privileges. Outstanding obligations will block patrons from registering for classes or obtaining transcripts.

Sul Ross State University fosters an atmosphere for the free and open exchange of ideas. In this Library, the computers are not filtered and you may see, hear, and read information with which you do not agree. The purpose of the Llibrary's computers is to provide access to Library collections and other information resources to support academic research and learning. Library equipment should be used to access information, not for play. Inappropriate use includes random typing or banging of keys or playing with mouse, keyboard, or other materials or equipment. The University forbids using its computers for commercial profit and users are expected to obey all state and federal laws. Sul Ross students, faculty, and staff have priority of use; other patrons may be asked to relinquish computers at busy times.
All computer users in the Library should also be aware of the Sul Ross policy, Appropriate Use of IT Resources.
Users are asked to observe a 30-minute time limit if others are waiting to use the computers.
The policy for reserving the Library Classroom 201 can be found here.
