A number of jobs are available for students in the Department of Biology. To find out more, contact the main office for the department. Types of job include: Institutional and Work Study Student Jobs These are part-time jobs in the Biology Department. They can range from five to 19 hours per week, and work schedules can be arranged around the student worker's class schedule. Students may apply for Work Study eligibility with the Financial Aid Office. The Biology Department almost always has Work Study positions available. Greenhouse Jobs Three to six students are hired every semester to work in the Sul Ross Greenhouses and Vineyard. Office Jobs One student is hired every semester to work in the Biology Department office. Other Departmental Jobs Students are frequently hired to work in other areas of the Biology Department. Graduate Assistant Positions Teaching Assistant Positions Four to five students are hired in the Fall and Spring semesters to teach Biology Labs. Research Assistant Positions Seven to 10 students are hired in the Fall and Spring semesters. Positions are available in the entire range of our curricula in biology.
