Alumni Association President's Message

Dear Fellow Alumni and Friends,

I am honored and excited to again serve as President of the Sul Ross State University Alumni Association for the 2012-2013 term. The Alumni Board continues to work for the betterment of Sul Ross State University; and University President, Dr. Ricardo Maestas, continues to focus on making Sul Ross State University the “best in the west.”

The Alumni Association is committed to recognizing and nurturing the rich and proud heritage of Sul Ross State University. It is the function of the Association to develop ways and means to involve and communicate with Alumni, and to see that Alumni are recognized as a respected and integral part of the University community.

With that charge, we will continue to focus efforts on Alumni Association growth, improvement of communication with our stakeholders, and expansion of our affinity partnerships. Alumni growth not only means growing our active membership, but also developing more Alumni Chapters across Texas. Chapter growth will enhance alumni friendships, aid in student recruitment, help develop scholarship programs, and deepen our proud heritage.

Sul Ross State University would not be what it is today without the support of its talented and generous alumni. I became involved with the Association because I was grateful to Sul Ross for providing me with a foundation to reach many of my personal and professional goals. I imagine many of you feel the same way.

As alumni, we can influence the future of our Alma mater and continue to strengthen its reputation.  On behalf of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, thank you for your continued interest and commitment to Sul Ross State University!  Please do not hesitate to contact any one of us with your ideas, questions or concerns.
