Credit by Examination
Current and prospective Sul Ross students may earn up to 30 semester hours of college credit through accepted exam programs or through the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
Enrolled students interested in CLEP or DANTES credit should take the subject examinations. Students may receive credit only in those subjects in which they have not earned academic credit accepted by Sul Ross. Students may not attempt credit by examination for a course in which they have received failing grades or for a basic course in those areas in which they have acceptable college credit for more advanced courses. Any student interested in earning credit by exam should confer with their advisor before applying to take the exam. For details, contact the Registrar's staff in the Center for Enrollment Services.
Scores on examinations must be submitted prior to initial enrollment by students who have not attempted any previous college work. Students should confer with their high school counselors before applying to take an examination for credit and paying the required fees. For details, contact the Center for Enrollment Services.
