Teaching Dual Credit

Sul Ross Rio Grande College offers master's degrees for educators interested in teaching dual high school/college credit classes and college level courses.

Master's of Education-concentration in College Teaching

This degree is designed to facilitate high school teachers who wish to obtain credentials to teach college level courses. College level teaching requires a master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in the specific teaching discipline. This program offers preparation in adult learning, school law, research, and includes 21 graduate hours in a specific teaching discipline.

EDUC 5301 Research Methodology (Must be taken within the first 12 hours)
EDUC 5316 Multicultural Learner
EDUC 6315 Curriculum Theory
EDUC 6309 Human Growth and Development with Emphasis on Adult Learning Pedagogy
EDUC 5319 School Law
Plus 21 graduate hours in a content area
    Content areas available: English, History, Political Science. Mathematics courses will be available summer 2015 and biology courses will be available 2015-16 academic year.
