Students wanting to get their Bachelor's degree in education and teach at the Elementary or Middle School grades level may choose from one of the seven degree specialisations that the Education department has to offer.  Please stop by MAB 305 to talk to an education advisor about one of our degree plans.  Our degree plan options include:

Elementary & Middle School

EC-6 Generalist - Designed for students who want to teach primarily in the elementary school setting, Pre-K 4's through 6th grade.

EC-6 Bilingual Generalist - Designed for students who want to teach primarily in the elementary school setting, Pre-K 4's through 6th grade, but who also want the option of teaching in Bilingual or standard classrooms.

4-8 Bilingual Generalist - Designed for students who want to teach the upper elementary and/or middle school grades.  Bilingual generalists may teaching in any of the subject areas covered on their degree either in the Bilingual or standard classrooms.

4-8 English/Language Arts & Reading - Designed for students who want to specialise in the teaching of English/Language Arts and/or Reading either in the upper elementary or  middle school grade levels. 4-8 Mathematics - Designed for students who want to specialise in the teaching of Mathematics in the upper elementary and middle school levels.

4-8 Sciences - Designed for students who want to specialise in the teaching of the sciences in the upper elementary and middle school levels.  Composite science emphasis on Biology, Geology and Physical Sciences.

4-8 Social Studies - Designed for students who want to specialise in the teaching of social studies at the upper elementary level or in history, geography or social studies at  the middle school grade levels.  Composite social studies emphasis on Economics, Geography, Government and History.
