ACT and SAT

A score from the ACT or SAT is required for admission of freshman students into any Texas public university. Contact the Admissions and Records Office for more information on admission requirements.

The Testing Center administers both tests on Saturdays. Check the registration bulletins for dates and registration information or visit www.collegeboard.com or www.act.org for Internet registration, registration bulletin and practice tests.

In addition, the SAT Institutional test is administered during new student orientations at the beginning of each semester. This test is identical to the SAT except that administration dates are scheduled by the institution and scores can only be used for admission to Sul Ross State University.

This test costs $45. Preregistration is strongly encouraged.

Note: SAT-I scores will not meet NCAA standards nor qualify a student for TASP exemption. The official SAT Web Site and ETS Web Site will provide additional information.
