Student Activities

The Sage -- is the student literary and art magazine published annually in the spring. The editor of The Sage is a student who is paid a monthly salary. Other volunteer positions for staff are available.

The Spanish Club (Los Tertulianos) -- is the oldest student organization on campus. The club meets regularly and sponsors Mexican-Awareness Week for students and the community to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. There is an annual club trip each spring.

Sigma Tau Delta -- is the National English Honor Society and Service Group. The group helps sponsor the annual Cowboy Poetry Gathering and invites poets and writers to present on-campus readings. A 3.0 GPA in English is required for membership, and the induction ceremony is held in the fall. For information, contact Nelson Sager, nsager@sulross.edu.

Sigma Delta Pi -- is the national Spanish Honor Society. A 3.0 GPA in Spanish and a 2.75 cumulative GPA are required for membership; the induction ceremony is held in the spring. For information, call 837-8151.

Phi Sigma Iota -- is an international foreign language honor society whose membership is open to those who have academically distinguished themselves in the study of one or more foreign languages.
