

The Academic Center for Excellence provides a myriad of multifaceted services for the academic programs and students at Sul Ross State University. It offers Basic Skills course work in Mathematics, Reading and Writing. It also includes the Academic Learning Center which helps students improve their study skills as well as enhance their skills in creative thinking. The ACE also houses the University Honors program.
The ACE office is on the second floor of Ferguson Hall, room FERG 214. The center's goal is to promote academic success at Sul Ross State University. Within ACE you will find a diverse set of programs to promote student achievement. The center provides assistance with your course work by offering study skills classes in learning styles, memory building, note taking, studying techniques, test taking and test anxiety.
The center works in cooperation with, but independently from, Student Support Services and the School of Arts and Science. Computer-based learning is a pivotal aspect of the Academic Center for Excellence, and the Center is well equipped with state of the art computers and programs. The center also provides the Academic Learning Center for tutoring for math from reviewing math fundamentals through calculus, reading, and writing.
