LOBO DAYS / ORIENTATION Spring 2012
ALL new incoming students for Spring 2012, including transfers and commuters are required to attend Lobo Days. Orientation/Welcome Week activities during Lobo Days will begin on move-in day, Monday January 16, 2012 and continue through Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Prior to orientation, students admission file must be complete and test scores must be on file. The COMPASS test will be offered during Lobo Days for those students needing to test. During orientation, students will be able to meet with an academic advisor to register for classes, meet with financial aid, cashiers, post office and get their student ID cards. A one-time fee of $125.00 will be added to all new incoming student's bills. Classes begin on Thursday, January 19, 2012. For more information contact Anita Banegas in the Lobo Den at (432) 837-8982. - TSI Testing prior to Lobo Days
The State of Texas requires a basic skills (reading, writing, and math) assessment of all students enrolling in public higher education who are not exempt. Students who have not taken the THEA, COMPASS, ACCUPLACER or ASSET for Texas Success Initiative compliance, must do so prior to registering for classes. Check with your local community colleges/universities for tests offered and test dates in your area. Official test scores must be on file with the registrar in order to properly advise during registration. Students should contact the registrar at (432) 837-8713 to verify that scores are on file. - COMPASS testing is available during Orientation on Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Students should call the Career Services and Testing office at (432) 837-8178 to sign up for the COMPASS test. The cost of the COMPASS test at Sul Ross is $65.00.
- Super Sully Saturday
- Super Sully Saturday preview day is an annual event for prospective students interested in enrolling at Sul Ross State University. This event is usually held at the beginning of each spring semester.
- Family Weekend
- Family Weekend, sponsored each fall by the Office of Student Life, is an opportunity for families of current and prospective students to visit the university.
Campus Tours
Sul Ross encourages visits to the university at any time during the year. Visitors may preview campus life through these individual tours.
Student Ambassador-guided tours are available between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays except during university holidays. Tours are scheduled by appointment only on Saturdays. To schedule a campus visit, call Sul Ross at 1-888-722-SRSU (7778) or send a request.

Attire
Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a sweater in case of inclement weather.

For accommodations for a documented disability, call the Disability Services office at (432) 837-8178. The office can provide information on available services. Office hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays.

Overnight Stays: Students
Call Residential Living at (432) 837-8190 for information about overnight accommodations and to make arrangements for arrival and check-in. Students who stay overnight in guest housing on campus will need to bring sheets, pillows, towels, soap, personal necessities, alarm clock, etc.
Overnight Stays: Family
Parents and other family members who accompany new students to events should make their own arrangements for lodging. Information on special sessions for parents may be included in confirmation mailouts. For information on Alpine accommodations, visit www.alpinetexas.com.
