Concert Choir

SRSU Jazz Ensemble

The traditional mixed choir is open to all students. This group performs two to three times a year, including pops, Christmas and classical concerts. Student solo and small ensemble opportunities are also available through the choir.

Contemporary Vocal Ensemble

The Contemporary Vocal Ensemble features music in a variety of vocal styles. This group frequently performs with the Jazz Ensemble.

Jazz Ensemble

This group performs in a wide range of jazz styles including bebop, big band, swing, latin and fusion. The Jazz Ensemble also concertizes frequently in cities around the Big Bend region.

Mariachi Ensemble

This group performs in traditional mariachi music and is open to both instrumental and vocal performers.

Pep Band

The Pep Band plays at the Lobo Football games and supports the university community by performing at university events such as Homecoming and "Meet the Lobos."

Wind Ensemble

This group includes winds, brass and percussion instruments and performs a wide variety of music. The ensemble presents two concerts per semester.

Alpine Community Band

The music program sponsors a community band drawing musicians from across the Big Bend area. Ages range from 16 to over 80. The band performs at community functions, seasonal concerts and special events. The Alpine Community Band Irregulars is a six- to eight-person version of the full band and is a community favorite.
