FC Search: The only comprehensive fund-raising CD-ROM, it covers more than 47,000 U.S. foundations and corporate givers. This resource includes descriptions of more than 200,000 grants and lists about 200,000 trustees, officers and donors. The powerful search engine feature allows for a multiple-criteria search from 21 search fields.

Publications: Chihuahuan Desert RC&D receives direct mailings, faxes and e-mails from many different funding sources. Access to foundation resource books also provides other funding opportunities.

Internet: Access to the Internet provides additional funding opportunities and allows for obtaining some of the most up-to-date information.

arrow Resource Teams

Through a partnership with the Texas Rural Development Council, the CDRC&D provides direct assistance to its rural communities with identifying their problems and challenges as well as their strengths and assets.

A resource team led by the Chihuahuan Desert RC&D coordinator uses the strengths of the development council's partners from diverse fields. Members of the resource team donate four days of their time to spend in a host community, touring the area and interviewing the residents.

This information, along with demographics, provides the team with valuable tools for making recommendations to address needs and taking advantage of local resources. Similar benefits from other resources can cost a community between $20,000 and $40,000.

arrow Educational Programs

Chihuahuan Desert RC&D sponsors educational programs that address topics such as conservation, leadership, business management and economic development.
