Banner Course Registration: So Easy A Caveman Could Do It

Pre-Registration

Before accessing Banner Self Service to register for your mid-winter and spring 2008 classes, take these preliminary steps:

1. Determine your User ID and PIN. Call the Help Desk at 837-8765 or visit http://www.sulross.edu/pages/4401.asp
2. Consult with your Advisor. Make sure you are taking the correct classes.
3. Visit the Mid-Winter, Spring 2008 Registration Under Way link on the SRSU home page at http://www.sulross.edu/pages/1.asp Review the information found in the following links:
   • Registration Dates
   • Class Schedules
   • Spring Registration Instructions
   • Spring 2008 Academic Calendar
4. Read all of the Registration Instructions for Spring 2008. It is a good idea to print out this page and have it by your side as you go through the registration process.

Accessing BSS and Registering

Once you have completed the four steps above, it is time to actually enter BSS and register.

1. Click on Banner Self-Service off the SRSU home page. Here, you will enter your User ID and PIN.
2. Select from the Registration Menu any of the 11 available options; however, the following are likely most important to you as you get started:
   • Select term you want
   • Check your registration status
   • Look-up classes in schedule
   • Register, Add or Drop classes
   All of these options are explained in the Registration Instructions for Spring 2008.

Other Issues that May Affect Your Registration

HOLDS --You will not be allowed to register if you have a hold on your records. Check your status and then contact the office that issued the hold to get it cleared. Offices issuing holds include: Controller, 837-8007; Financial Assistance, 837-8055; Library, 837-8123; and UDPS, 837-8100.

CLASS STATUS -- The only source for up-to-the-minute class status is BSS. The printed version of the schedule is a guide only.

REGISTRATION ERRORS -- The 12 registration errors, their explanation, and the required action to correct the error are all listed on TABLE 2 of Registration Instructions for Spring 2008.

OVERRIDES -- All overrides must go through the Registrar’s Office. They cannot be performed by students in
