How to Change Projections Using ArcView 3.1
Maybe you have a map boundary in UTM and you want to plot it within the quadrangle outline and a park/county/state boundary, all of which are in decimal degrees (arcusa data). You can change the projection.

(Note: Version 3.2 has a more elaborate projection utility, but this type of stuff is more accurately done in ArcInfo):
- Set your working directory.
- Load the Projector! extension (if it is not available, see KMU for solution).
- Load the UTM shape file (map boundary or whatever) that you want to merge with decimal degree data.
- Press the new "Projector" icon (it looks like a north arrow).
- Choose the input projection (you have to know this -- probably UTM, zone 13, NAD27 or NAD83.
- Choose the output projection -- decimal degrees.
- Say yes to recalculate areas.
- Say no to "add to current view."
- Let it finish.
- Go to a new view.
- Add the new theme. Check to make sure that it appears to be in decimal degrees, then add your other decimal degree themes, and the park boundary theme ...
