Joseph Students in PASS Two-legged race

PASS Summer 2008 will be held July 6-18

Important Note:  You must be admitted to the university to be eligible for the PASS program. The 2008 PASS program is now full.

What Is PASS?

The Pathway to Academic Success and Socialization is aimed at helping entering freshmen succeed in college. The program consists of two major activities: a two-week summer orientation program, and a learning community during the fall semester.

Admission Requirements

In order to be admitted to the PASS program, you must have been accepted to the Univeristy and be a first-time freshman. If you are unsure of your status, please contact the registrar's office at 432-837-8050. PASS will accept the first 100 applicants who meet this criteria.

Summer Program

The summer portiion of the PASS program requires a $25.00 registration fee for participants. Participants will attend classes geared to bridge the transition from high school to college and ensure success at the college level. In addition, participants will gain invaluable knowledge about the Sul Ross Campus and Alpine Community.

Social programs are held during the evenings and on the weekend to entertain and educate. Participants experience college life by living in the residence halls and eating at the food court. In addition, participants earn a $200 tuition voucher upon successful completion of the program.

Fall Semester

During the fall semester, participants have the opportunity to enroll in courses restricted for PASS participants. This will provide a ready made study group and give you a chance to meet up with the people you met during the summer program. Students will also be given opportunities to participate in organized social activities throughout the year.
