SRSU Blackboard Information and HelpBlackboard is a web-based learning environment that enables instructors to enhance on-campus learning and/or deliver distance learning by bringing their course materials, class discussions, assignments and assessments (tests/quizzes) to the web. Your instructor will let you know if your class uses Blackboard or not. Logging In To BlackboardFor Blackboard access and login instructions (how to get your Username and Password), view the New Student Tech Tips page. SRSU Blackboard News (Fall 2008)UPDATE: Beginning with the Summer I 2008 term, all Blackboard courses were created in the Blackboard Academic Suite ver 7.3 and this has become our official Learning Management System for instructors and students. Our old Blackboard Basic server has been phased out slowly and was taken off-line as of the Summer II, 2008 semester. As of the Fall 2008 semester, you may consider us completely shifted over to the new system. If anyone has any questions concerning our migration over to the new Blackboard Academic Suite ver 7.3, please contact one of your Blackboard support people listed below. Please check out the Media & Instructional Technology Services Blog for the latest updates on SRSU support issues concerning Blackboard as well as New Media Technologies, Web 2.0 Resources, and much more. An RSS feed is available. IMPORTANT: We continue to experience problems with students using the Internet Explorer v7 browser with Blackboard, **especially with any online testing**. This seems to not just be a local problem, but one that many other schools running Blackboard are experiencing as well. For the time being your SRSU Blackboard Support people are advocating that you urge your students to use the very popular (and stable w/ Blackboard) Mozilla Firefox v3 browser when accessing your course in Blackboard and *especially* when taking online tests. It is a free download and easy to install, you can even have both it and Internet Explorer running on the same computer if you wish. The Mozilla Firefox download page URL to post for your students is: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ (the link can also be found in your course's "Help & Resources" area) Blackboard Academic Suite 7.3 Instructor's Manual
