UC Equipment List

A variety of equipment is available for your meeting or conference at the University Center of Sul Ross State University.

Background Music
A 5-disc CD player is available for background music, controlled inside the Espino Conference Center. The background music can be set for the entire room, or controlled by the individual rooms when the Conference Center is divided. This is not appropriate for playing specific pieces of music at specific times, only for continuously playing background music.
Chairs: approx. 300
Chairs are available for use with or without tables, in whatever configuration you need for your meeting.
Display Boards: 20
These boards are not listed on the room legends since they are not often used; however, if your meeting or conference will have a poster session, these can be set up in a room or the foyer.
Dry Marker Boards: 4
Markers and an eraser are provided when dry marker boards are requested. These can be used free-standing on the floor, or the legs collapse to use on a table top.
Easel: 4
The easels can be used free-standing on the floor, or with legs collapsed for table-top use. An optional bar is available for holding drawing pads, but pads are not provided.
Laser Pointers: 5
Pen-type laser pointers can be checked out for use during your meeting or conference.
Lectern: 3
A free-standing lectern (on wheels for portability) is available for your speaker. Check the legend to use the correct symbol for a lectern with a handheld or lapel mic, or a lectern with no mic.
Media Cart: 3
These state-of-the-art units contain a computer w/CD/DVD ROM drive, and DVD/VHS player, all connected to a data projector. The sound can easily be run through the house sound in the Espino Conference Center. If a PowerPoint presentation will be used, remote control units are available for control of the presentation so your presenter is not tied to the media cart. Please be sure to indicate on your reservation request form your specific media cart needs, i.e., DVD, VHS, sound, or internet. It will speed up the process on our side.
Mic Stands: Floor: 5
These stands adjust in height and can be carefully moved around the room, if necessary.
Mic Stands: Table: 8
These stands will adjust in height and can be moved around on the table, as needed.
Mics: Corded: 6
When mobility is not an issue, corded microphones can be used with either table or floor stands.
Mics: Cordless: 3
A cordless microphone can easily be set up for use when your speaker likes to move around the room. They are available as either hand-held or clip-on lapel models.
Overhead Projector: 1
An overhead projector can be placed in the room on a rolling cart, so it can be off to the side and out of the way when not in use.
Stage Pieces: 8 
Staging is available for the slight elevation of a head table or speaker. You can designate the configuration of the 4'x8'x7" pieces.
Tables: Conference: 90
2'x6' - Narrower than regular tables, these allow more seating but are too narrow for people on both sides. Three people can be seated on one side.
Tables: Long: 4
2.5'x8' - The long tables can be useful in displays or other settings where a little more than 6' is needed, but 12' is too much.
Tables: Regular: 10
2.5'x6' - These tables will accommodate 3 people on a side and are wide enough to allow seating on both sides.
Tables: Round: 35
60" across: Usually used for banquets, they can be set up with 4, 5, or 6 people per table. We can seat for 7 or 8 per table, but don't recommend it unless absolutely necessary.
Table Cloths
Table cloths can be requested for your set up, through ARAMARK. If catering is not a part of your request, there will be a charge for linens.
