Starting the Process

Clear Holds, See Your Advisor, Complete Registration Form.

To use Banner Self Service, all holds must be cleared. See your advisor for approval in course selection. Your PIN will allow you to access the Banner Self Service web site. Before attempting to register via the Internet, be sure you and your advisor complete the schedule worksheet (PDF, 5.94 KB). Be sure to also make alternate selections in case some of the classes are closed.

Instructions of how to use Banner Self Service for registration are outlined on the Students web page and on schedule worksheets.

Register only for classes your adviser has approved. Your schedule may be examined during the registration period to determine if you have registered only for advisor-approved courses. You may be dropped from courses that are not advisor-approved and from those for which you do not have the proper prerequisites.

Eligible Students

Currently enrolled students who have satisfied the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) are eligible to register by internet once proper advisement has occurred and a personal identification number (PIN) has been issued. Web registration cannot be used for courses that require enrollment permits. If you are unsure about your eligibility to use the internet to register, check with your department.

Currently enrolled students who have not satisified the TSI must register on campus and are not permitted to register by the internet. Newly admitted freshmen must register at orientation. Students who have not been admitted into the university by the start of the registration period must contact the Office of Recruiting and Admissions.

Student Account Payment

You must pay your tuition and fees on or before the registration tuition payment deadline to confirm your registration. Banner Self Service gives you the option of paying your student account by credit card over the internet. Credit card payment is available in the Cashier's Office by phoning (432) 837-8129. Visa and MasterCard are the only cards accepted.

Special Caution: Registering via Banner Self Service creates a financial obligation with the university. If you register, and decide not to attend, you must notify the Registrar in writing before classes begin. Not doing so may impact your grades, future registrations, and any financial aid you may be eligible to recieve.

Adds and Drops

Schedule changes can be made anytime throughout the registration period provided you are adding only advisor-approved courses. If you add a course to your schedule, you must pay the additional tuition and fees on or before the registration tuition payment deadline to confirm the added course. The tuition payment schedules for each of the sessions are listed on this website.

WARNING: You are responsible for meeting with your assigned faculty advisor before attempting to register using Banner Self Service. If you alter or ignore any recommendations or requirements placed on your class schedule by an advisor or other university representative, your registration may be canceled. You are required to insure you are in compliance with any TSI develop.m.ental education requirements and following your degree plan. If you choose to not follow the recommended degree plan and/or your advisors recommendations, the university is not responsible for courses that were not taken in proper sequence or failure to complete graduation requirements in a timely manner.

ENROLLING IN A WEB COURSE? You are responsible for making intitial contact with the instructor, either by e-mail, telephone, or in person. Failure to make intitial contact may result in your registration in a web based course being canceled.

Note: State law requires that you be informed of the following: (1) you are entitled on request to be informed about the information about yourself collected by the use of any web-based form (with a few exceptions as provided by law); (2) you are entitled to receive and review the information; and (3) you are entitled to have the information corrected.
