Counseling Services

Counseling Services are an intregral part of the Counseling and Advising Center and the student-centered educational mission at Sul Ross State University.

Professional counseling is available to faculty, staff and students. The services provided by CAC include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Short-term counseling rooted in empathy, respect and unconditional positive regard
  • A comprehensive referral network to off-campus providers
  • Online alcohol, anxiety, and depression screening
  • Workshops, seminars, and other presentations designed to create awareness on such issues as:
    • HIV/AIDS and STD prevention
    • Alcohol and other drug use and abuse
    • Sexual assault and rape
    • Eating, depressive and anxiety disorders
    • Domestic violence
    • Healthy relationship
    • Cultural diversity, etc.
  • Students, Faculty and Staff have access to our online screening tool for depression, bi-polar disorder, alcohol problems, eating disorders, generalized anxiety, and PTSD for free at:
