President's 2009
Holiday Tree Lighting
& Reception
Wednesday ~ December 2, 2009 ~ 7 pm

Begun in 1984 by the late President Jack Humphries, the annual Tree Lighting & Reception has grown into one of the much-anticipated events of the Fall semester. On Wednesday, December 2nd, the annual tree lighting will begin in front of the Wildenthal Memorial Library. New President Ricardo Maestas will hit the switch on the lights decorating the beautiful pine tree and will officially kick-off the holiday season at Sul Ross State University.

Following the lighting, festivities will move to the 2nd floor of the University Center. We'll sing carols, light the indoor tree, and wait for a very special visitor.

Original holiday cards made by campus departments and organizations will be on display, along with ornaments submitted. All registered campus organizations and University departments are invited to submit cards and ornaments. Information on these activities is now available through the links below.

Decorating of the Morgan University Center will begin on Monday, November 30th and will continue each day until the reception begins. The UC student workers would like to extend an invitation to individuals and organizations interested in helping with the decorating. A decorating party will be held on the 30th from 6-9 pm, with refreshments. Please give Maggie a call if you'd like to help that night to ensure enough refreshments are on hand.

Since many students will arrive home after finals to completed decorations, you're invited to come out and help decorate the UC! If you're interested, please contact Maggie Miller at 837-8423 or stop by UC 108.
