The Grants Office at Sul Ross State University serves as the Office of Sponsored Programs for Sul Ross State University. We facilitate proposal development, submission and implementation of externally funded programs and projects that fall within the University's priorities and support the University's academic mission. 

  Funding sources may include:

• Private or independent foundations
• Family foundations
• Community foundations
• Company-sponsored foundations
• Corporate charitable giving
• Federal Programs
• State Programs

In addition to the identification of possible funding sources, other pre-award services include consultation on proposal development, project design, data gathering, editorial review, budget construction and identifying suitable potential funding match. The Grants Office can also assist coordinating proposed activities with other university officials and departments, local and regional initiatives and national priorities.

The Grants Office submits electronic proposals on behalf of the University. When required by the funding source, the Grants Office can also be engaged to submit hard copies including a letter of introduction/support from the president and any required attachments.

Once a grant is awarded, the office coordinates award implementation by working with the Primary Investigator,  grants accountant, business office and other involved divisions and departments. The Grants Office maintains records of submitted, approved and declined proposals and retains records of funding extensions, memoranda of understanding, subawards, contracts and annual reports.
