The Grants Office at Sul Ross State University works with all departments and staff to develop and implement external funding projects that fall within the university's priorities. Funding sources may be in the following categories:
- Private or independent foundation
- Family foundations
- Community foundations
- Company-sponsored foundations
- Corporate charitable giving
- Federal and state opportunities
If requested, the office will assist in locating the best potential funding match for each proposed project. In addition to the identification of possible funding sources, other pre-award services include consultation on project development, grant writing tips, editorial review and budget development, as well as coordination with university officials.
If requested, the grants office will copy and submit the proposal, normally accompanied by a letter of introduction/support from the president, and affix any requested attachments.
Once a grant is awarded, the office coordinates award stewardship by working with the grants accountant and the Primary Investigator to provide annual reports for external awards.
The more we know of your interests the better job we can do in identifying upcoming grants and funding opportunities to help you. So call or come by and chat! Mention any interests outside your discipline, your interests in interdisciplinary proposals, your interests with the arts, the environment, whatever -- just let us know. We are here to assist the faculty and staff of SRSU in obtaining external funding to support your creative, scholarly, and research activities.
