Jackson Field- Former longtime
Big Bend area rancher J.D. Jackson donated the land which would be the home of the Lobo football program for the next 77 years. Jackson Field has played host to numerous football championships including the barn-burning 1982 playoff game between Sul Ross and William-Jewell in which the Lobos fell in overtime in a 44-43 final score. Kokernot Field- Kokernot Field’s rich history began from an idea by legendary
Big Bend area rancher and philanthropist Herbert Kokernot to bring semi-pro baseball to Alpine with the introduction of the Alpine Cowboys in 1947. Kokernot Field has hosted several former major league standouts including Sul Ross alumnus Norm Cash, Satchel Page, and Gaylord Perry. CAPACITY: 1,400
Pete P. Gallego Center- Named in honor of Texas State Representative, Sul Ross alumnus and Alpine native Pete P. Gallego, the
Gallego
Center hosts a number of university and community events each year. It is also home for Lobo men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball contests. CAPACITY: 3,500
