Advising

criminal justice studentsStudents are encouraged to see an advisor each semester before registration to ensure that you will register for the right classes. Many courses are on a rotation that indicates they will not be offered every semester. Proper advising will ensure courses are taken in the proper order and when they are offered so students do not have to wait an extra semster to take a required course.

Students should maintain a copy of their degree plan and update it at the end of each semester. Bring this degree plan and the proposed schedule to your advisor. If you do not have a copy of your degree plan you can acquire one from the CJ department secretary.

Advisors for Criminal Justice Students

  • Freshmen -- Robert Hunter
  • Sophomores and Juniors -- Raymond Kessler
  • Seniors, Transfer Students and Graduate students -- Lorie Rubenser

Students should contact their advisors during posted office hours or make an appointment by coming to the CJ office or calling the secretary at (432) 837-8166.
