TSI Testing Prior to Lobo Days

The State of Texas requires a basic skills (reading, writing, and math) assessment of all students enrolling in public higher education who are not exempt.

Students who have not taken the THEA, COMPASS, ACCUPLACER or ASSET for Texas Success Initiative compliance must do so prior to enrolling in Sul Ross State University. Check with local community colleges/universities for tests offered and test dates in your area.

Official test scores must be on file with the registrar in order to properly advise during registration.  Students should contact the registrar at (432) 837-8713 to verify that scores are on file.

Compass testing will be available on Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Students should call the Career Services and Testing Office at (432) 837-8178 or (432) 837-8357 in order to sign up for the COMPASS test.

Students who call to sign up for testing should leave their name and number and indicate that they want to sign up for the COMPASS test on August 22nd. The cost of the test is $65.
