The Sul Ross track and field teams will be looking for continued leadership for 2007.
Both women's and men's teams took fourth place finishes in 2006's ASC Conference Meet held in Abilene.
Christina Solis will lead the women's team after placing second in conference in the 3000 meter steeplechase and eighth in the 1500 meter run. Courtney Camarillo will also supply additional leadership after placing fifth in the 100 meter hurdles at last year's conference meet. Tammy Cash will return to lead in the women's field events after placing fourth in the shot put at last year's conference meet.
Michael DeBille and Nolan Blount will lead the men's team for 2007. DeBille and Blount finished fourth and fifth respectively in conference at last year's 3000 meter steeple chase. Sully's Cruz Tovar and Alberto Martinez placed fourth in the men's 4 x 400 meter relay. In men's field competition, Bryan Kung and Daniel Brown will look to improve on last year's seventh and eighth place finishes in the shot put. Kung and Daniel placed fourth and fifth respectively in last year's hammer throw.
