ALPINE, Texas – Brooke Bankston led the floor for Sul Ross with seven kills as the Lady Lobos dropped a 3-0 conference decision to visiting Hardin-Simmons Friday evening.

Josette Delgado posted 14 assists while libero Celina Ontiveros added eight digs. Bankston and Gina Medina shared a block in the effort.

The Cowgirls came out strong in the first set taking an 18-9 lead. A 7-4 run by the visitors gave HSU a 25-13 victory.

The Lady Lobos kept things close in game two holding Hardin-Simmons to a 13-10 advantage. The Cowgirls then sprinted on a 12-6 run to take a 25-16 win heading to the final set.

Sul Ross held a brief 2-1 lead in the closing game before HSU erupted on a 23-8 attack. The Lady Lobos broke into double figures off an HSU attack error. The match ended on a kill by Cowgirl Kaela Parnell with the set up by Erin Davis for the 25-10 win and the 3-0 sweep.

Sully drops to 1-23 on the season and 0-17 in ASC play. Hardin-Simmons bumps their mark to 20-6 and 15-2.

The Lady Lobos will close out the season on Saturday with a noon conference match against McMurry at the Gallego Center.
