ALPINE, Texas – Brooke Bankston mustered five kills as the Sul Ross volleyball team fell in their season finale to McMurry in a 3-0 decision.

Josette Delgado totaled 11 assists with Jenny Garcia leading defenders with eight digs.

McMurry held the home team to single digits in game one in a 25-9 victory. McMurry put up a 17-6 run in that set. The game ended on a service ace by McM’s Carmyn Wingrove.

Sul Ross fell behind on a 10-1 attack by the visitors in game two. A service error against McMurry pulled the Lady Lobos into single digits trailing 16-10. Sully was held to an eight-point run as McMurry put up another ace to end the set in a 25-18 win for the visitors.

The home team put up a 10-5 lead in the closing game before McMurry moved on a 6-0 run to tie the set at 11. McM took the go ahead at 13-12 before posting a 12-7 run for a 25-19 win.

Sul Ross ends the season at 1-24 and 0-18 in American Southwest Conference play. McMurry improved to 17-11 and 12-6.
