HTML Special Character Chart: Latin Letters

Most standard keyboard characters are widely supported by web browsers, but accented letters used in various Western languages, including Spanish, French, German and Icelandic, may require one of the special character codes.

The standard alphabet characters may also be represented by character codes, though this is generally not necessary. Capitals A-Z are represented by A through &#90 and lower case a-z are in the series a through z.

*Some of the Icelandic letters are not supported by earlier Mac browsers because of variations in the Mac coding system.

**The series from  through ™ had been reserved for future use, and some older charts jump to  . The lower numbers still appear as "unused" in many charts. Though these numbers have been assigned, not all of the characters in this series are fully supported.
