Early Childhood Development Center

The Early Childhood Development Center at Sul Ross State University provides affordable year-round care for the children of SRSU students, faculty and staff members. Serving children ages 6 weeks to 10 years old, it is currently the only licensed center in Alpine providing care for children younger than 2 years of age.

The center strives to be a development center, not just a daycare. The staff, which includes some students as well as members of the community, receives monthly training with an emphasis on areas of development, setting developmentally appropriate goals and providing positive behavior management.

The center was established in January of 2002 to provide care to children of Sul Ross students. Construction of a new facility was completed in 2007 with a total square footage of 4,000 square feet.
