SRSU Range and Wildlife Club

The governing body for the SRSU student chapter of The Wildlife Society and the Society for Range Management is the SRSU Range and Wildlife Club. Students (including non-NRM students) can become members by paying a $5/semester fee. Club officers are students elected and serve 1-2 semester terms. The SRSU Range and Wildlife Club provides opportunities for students to participate in a variety of activities for community-service and professional development.

Activities

The SRSU Range and Wildlife Club hosts a variety of conservation, community service, and recruitment programs including:

  • Third Black Bear Workshop (Co-hosted by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department)
  • Bighorn Sheep Work Day (Co-hosted by Texas Bighorn Society and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department)
  • SRSU R&W Club Wild Game Dinner and Big Game Awards (Co-hosted by Texas Wildlife Association)
  • Black Gap WMA Baseline Inventory Contract
  • Highway 67 Cleanup
  • Annual Turkey Shoot
  • Texas Chapter of The Wildlife Society Meeting
  • Texas Section for the Society of Range Management Meeting
  • Texas Wildlife EXPO
