Hunter and I knew of each other through mutual friends and him coming into the restaurant I worked at.  We weren't even interested in each other romantically.  I'm guessing about three or four years later I was working on finally getting out of college.  Hunter and I had a couple of classes together.   At first, we would talk briefly and go about our business.  Then the talks became longer and we became friends.  Hunter and I started spending a lot more time together and the rest is history.

After Hunter graduated with his Master's he found a job in Brackettville, TX working for the La Fonda Ranch.   He was to start his job on April 1st, 2005.  So on March 19, 2005, Hunter proposed to me in Martins Jeweler’s after hours.  It was definitely a surprise to me.  So Hunter left to Brackettville and I planned a wedding in 4 months and married on July 30, 2005.   I didn't want to be away from him any longer than I had to.  So now 2 years and 6 months later we are doing well and working on our next chapter in our lives.  We are moving to Fredericksburg.

Miles and I met in high school.  We both attended Sul Ross after we graduated from high school, and we were fortunate to attend some of the same classes together.  We have many memories in Alpine and of Sul Ross. We married on September 3, 2005 and have been married for 2 years and 4 months. We currently live in New Braunfels, TX.

Guadalupe Garcia ‘89

We were both hanging out in the Mountainside lobby one evening in the fall of 1985, when Guadalupe asked if someone would walk with her down to La Tienda (the convenience store in front of the Highland Inn).McCall Family_Sweetheart

Having been introduced to her by a mutual friend a few weeks before, I told her I'd be her escort. Neither of us spoke much on the way down there, still practically being strangers to one another. On the way back though, having bags loaded with junk food, we agreed to sit a while in front of vacant Lawrence Hall and began to converse as we ate. The food lasted only a few minutes, but the conversation went on for hours, and the relationship it spawned is now in its 23rd year.

Today we are the proud parents of three sons. Our oldest, James, is now a sophomore at Sul Ross.

I have a long history with Sul Ross.  I grew up in Alpine and both of my parents teach at Sul Ross.  I attended Sul Ross after graduating from high school.

Evan grew up in Pecos, TX.  He transferred to Sul Ross from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AK.

Evan and I still remember the first time we saw each other.  It was in the University Center.  He was on one side of the 2nd floor and I was on the other side.  Neither of us knew each other, so we were please when my best friend went introduced us several weeks after we first saw each other.

We were friends for almost two years before we started dating.  Then as soon as we started dating, both of us knew it was meant to be.  We've been together ever since.

Thank goodness for Sul Ross!

Our Wedding Date: June 11, 2005

Years Married: 2
