Pearce Clinic

Coverage periods for actively enrolled students begins with the opening of residence halls and ends with commencement. Continuing students are covered between Fall and Spring semesters.

For 2009 Academic Year:

  • Services begin September 1, 2008

The following services are available to SRSU students at no cost:

  • Office visits and general consultations
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease counseling‡
  • Family planning counseling
  • Urinalysis
  • Diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract infection*
  • Vaginitis diagnosis and treatment*
  • Management of viral and bacterial infections, gastroenteritis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, skin infections, dermatitis, urticaria*
  • Strep throat screening*
  • Referral for lab work‡
  • Allergy injections, rabies and meningitis vaccinations (vaccine and allergy meds paid for by student) No injection fee charge for vaccine administration.
  • TB skin testing
  • Finger Stick Blood Glucose and Spun Hematocrit Testing for Anemia
  • Assessment of injuries and referral for x-rays‡
  • Follow-up of abnormalities, including injuries in games if minor
  • Referral of any serious athletic injury‡
  • [Specimen] Collection of blood, urine, sputum, stool, and wound swab (Student responsible for outsourced lab fee)

*Students are responsible for the cost of medications or antibiotics used in the treatment and management of disease. Student Health Services provides the Pearce Clinic with a limited supply of Tobramycin eye drops, Amoxicillin capsules and Cephalexin capsules at no cost to students.

†Students are responsible for the cost of vaccines and allergy medication.

‡Students are responsible for the cost of referred medical services, laboratory work and X-rays.

Procedures such as cryotherapy of moles, casting, pap smears, suturing, eye exam, ear irrigations, removal of moles, incision & drainage, x-rays, ultrasounds, CT Scans, d-Tetanus booster for penetrating injury, follow-up for reactive TB skin test, miscellaneous vaccinations, ear irrigations, any medication and/or drug not supplied by the university and visits more frequently than once a month for chronic problems are available to students for a standard charge. Students must pay for any care and/or procedures not covered by the university's medical services contract.
