The Hispanic-Serving Institutions' College Cost Reduction Access Act of the Department of Education has funded two separate grants affecting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) major opportunities at SRSU.

1. The first of these is a stand-alone grant targeting existing science and mathematics resources and enabling improved articulation with El Paso Community College and South Plains College.

2.  The second of these is a COOP grant with Midland College that dramatically expands upon the pre-existing Science Initiative program setup with that institution while exploring improved models for distance delivery.
