Tex-A-Syst Water Screening for Alpine and Surrounding Area

Chihuahuan Desert RC&D in cooperation with Texas AgriLife Extension, Big Bend, Highland and Toyah-Limpia Soil and Water Conservation Districts and The Natural Resources Conservation Service conducted water screening tests on April 28-29 for Brewster, Presidio and Jeff Davis Counties. 

This screening event was designed to help rural residents learn about practices that improve water quality for home and agriculture use. Water was tested for nitrate, salts and bacteria. From the three counties a total of 96 tests were conducted.

A retest is scheduled in the next month or so for those who want a retest or were not able to have their water tested in April.
