The Sul Ross State University-Rio Grande College Small Business Development Center is one of more than 900 Small Business Development Centers operating across the United States with support from the US Small Business Administration and such local partners as state universities. The Southwest Texas Border SBDC Network is headquartered at the University of San Antonio. SBDC serves nine counties in Southwest Texas managed from offices at the SRSU Rio Grande campuses such as Del Rio, Eagle Pass and Uvalde and a fourth office located in Carrizo Springs.
Cynthia Yadira Gomez has been working at the Sul Ross State University-Rio Grande College Small Business Development Center as a Business Development Specialist for 6 years. She has now obtained the title of Senior Business Advisor through her hard work and dedication. Throughout her career, she has acquired an extensive amount of experience and knowledge in finance, business plan, management, human resource management, QuickBooks-finance and payroll, marketing and more.
She is a C.C. Winn High School graduate and attended Texas A&M International University in Laredo. She obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance by the fall of 2003 and one year later she obtained a Master of Business Administration degree in International Business. Cynthia has also taught undergraduate business classes at SR-RGC.
Mrs. Gomez is a Certified Business Advisor (CBA) level III and she is working towards the completion of Certified Business Advisor (CBA) level IV. A level IV CBA is an advanced level certification pre-approved by the Certified Business Advisors committee. It usually involves a test or certification of the learning obtained. CBA IV requires one year of experience in CBA III, a Master Degree, 24 hours of Advanced Professional Development, 10 impact goals, 20 long term clients, a Special Project, and Public-Speaking Observation. Cynthia also has a certification on QuickBooks as a Pro-Advisor.
