TOM CURRY - ILLUSTRATOR

The work of Tom Curry has been described as a "platform for the human condition, a combination of humor and despair."

His acrylic paintings are in private collections in the United States, Europe and Japan and he has been featured in a number of art magazines. An illustrator since 1977, Curry has accumulated hundred of awards, has had five one- man shows and has illustrated three children' s books. Some of Curry's clients include Time, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, The Atlantic, Texas Monthly and The New York City Opera.

Curry is a native Texan who grew up in West Texas. After fifteen years in Austin he moved to Alpine for the beauty and remoteness of the region. He lives in the Davis Mountains and works out of a studio in Alpine.

A lover of nature and devoted environmentalist, his illustrations, large personal paintings and occasional cartoons voice today's social concerns.
