ABOUT US

   Since its inception in 1992, the  Big Bend Region Minority and Small Business Development Center  has secured over 300 loans amounting to over $58.8 million, has served over 3300 clients, conducted over 235 seminars, and assisted with more than 120 new business start-ups, while in the process creating over 600 new jobs.
   The Center helps existing and start-up small business owners develop management skills, thereby improving their potential for success. Counselors assists small businesses in areas ranging from business plan development and financing, to marketing, advertising, and international trade assistance.
   Our counselors have backgrounds as small business owners, and can provide the practical expertise needed for today's businesses to succeed. Counselors maintain the highest ethical standards of confidentiality,  and provide one-on-one counseling services at no charge to the client.

Big Bend Region Minority and Small Business Development Center Newsletter

The Big Bend Region Minority and Small Business Development Center produces and distributes a weekly newsletter of interest to local business owners, managers, entrepreneurs and those considering a small business startup. Content includes seminar and workshop announcements, conference dates, local success stories and features pertaining to conducting business. The SBDC newsletter is rapidly becoming the preferred choice of businesses in the Big Bend Region to keep abreast of local and regional developments as well as training opportunities.

The Big Bend Region SBDC newsletter is sent via e-mail on Mondays to over 500 subscribers. There is no cost to subscribe and subscriptions can be canceled at any time. Business incubator offers small business startups a path to success.
   
At one time or another, almost everyone has dreamed of owning a small business. Most ponder the idea for years but never quite get the courage to carry their dream through to fruition.
     Does the thought of being your own boss get your entrepreneurial juices flowing? Do you look at existing businesses and think “I can do better than that?” If the answer to these questions is “yes,” the Big Bend Region Minority and Small Business Development Center (SBDC) business incubator program might have just the resources needed to start you on the path to success.
