DBA Don Jose Panaderia, Presidio

Miguel Hernandez and his family have been in the bakery business for many generations in Mexico. Miguel decided to use the family’s delicious recipes to make his breads and pastries available in Presidio and the surrounding area.
Mr. Hernandez established Don Jose Panaderia on January 15, 2004 in the center of town. Recently, Miguel noticed that sales had increased greatly over the past year and decided to make a long-term investment by applying for a direct commercial loan of $56,500 for the purchase the land and building he was occupying. He will also be making renovations.
Miguel was encouraged by a good customer, Nereida Marquez, a loan officer at Fort Davis State Bank. Mr. Hernandez called Loretta Garcia, SBDC Senior Business Advisor, for assistance in generating a direct commercial loan application. Mr. Hernandez pledged approximately $18,785 in business assets to obtain this loan. The loan was facilitated by Nereida Marquez and approved by Fort Davis State Bank. The annual projected sales increase for this small business expansion is $108,882.
