Eight Innovation Grants Awarded to Faculty and Staff

The Sul Ross State Univ. Office of Institutional Effectiveness sponsored an Innovation Grant opportunity for all faculty and staff who coordinate academic or administrative programs. The proposals featured enhancements for programs to promote institutional quality, effectiveness and benefits for SRSU students. The winning grants were announced on Friday, May 3. Four of the academic programs were submitted jointly by faculty from Alpine, Eagle Pass, Del Rio, and Uvalde campuses. Dr. Jeanne Qvarnstrom, Assistant Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness, praised all of the grant proposals for their creativity and positive impact on students.

The complete list of grant award winners and their departments include Betsy Evans, Education and Outreach, Library; Dr. Ana Acevedo, Professor Ilda Gonzalez, and Dr. Filemon Zamora, Bachelor of Arts in Spanish; Dr. Barbara Tucker, Education Department; Dr. Jennifer Miller and Dr. Gina Stocks, Master of Education, Reading Specialist; Dr. Kathy Stein, Development Education; Dr. Laura Payne and Dr. Sally Roche, Bachelor of Arts in English; Dr. Ryan Luna, Wildlife Management; and Dr. Wesley Wynne and Dr. Alicia Trotman, Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
