Blood Drive at Sul Ross Uvalde Campus

By Laura Nelson

The Sul Ross State Univ. Uvalde campus is hosting a blood drive on Sat., Sept. 12, 2020 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Blood supplies are low and patients across south Texas depend upon donors to keep blood on the shelves. It may be a warrior fighting cancer, a Texan involved in an accident, or others relying on blood to survive. It may be your neighbor, a friend, or a relative.

Donations are by appointment only. Make your appointment here or visit the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center website.

As a thank-you for your dedication to maintaining the blood supply in South Texas, all blood donations will be tested for the antibody to COVID-19 through September 30. The test is free and results are available on your donor portal a week after donation. For more information, visit the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center website.

As an additional thank you, donors choose an eGift card from hundreds of retailers such as Amazon, Grubhub and many more.

Your health is our top priority. South Texas Blood & Tissue Center personnel follow social distancing guidelines and provide adequate space in check-in areas and donor chairs. All staff and donors are required to wear masks and if you do not have one, we will provide one.

You may also complete your pre-donation health questionnaire on the day of your scheduled appointment before arriving to help streamline the process. Find that document at www.southtexasblood.org/donordoc. If you are unable to donate, please visit the donor portal to cancel your appointment so we may schedule someone else.

Please join us in helping save lives!
